Fire breaks out in oldest mosque house in South Dumdum

A fire broke out in the oldest mosque house located in ward number two of South Dumdum Municipality in West Bengal, on the afternoon of May 3, 2023.

The fire reportedly engulfed several rooms in the mosque house, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. However, it is suspected to be caused by an electric short circuit.

As soon as the fire broke out, the local residents and neighbors rushed to the scene and started dousing the fire with buckets of water from a nearby pond. The fire brigade and power supply were immediately informed, and they reached the location to control the fire.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported as the locals managed to rescue people from the mosque house. The Dum Dum police and CSC officials have started investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
